On Tuesday, Oct. 27, the Marshall County REMC Operation Round Up board awarded $4,433 to three local organizations.

Junior Achievement Serving Marshall County received funding to help provide the Personal Finance program to two classes at Lincoln Junior High School. Junior Achievement’s Personal Finance program allows students to experience the interrelationship between today’s financial decisions and future financial freedom.

Plymouth High School Student Council received funding to assist with its 2020 Christmas party for children in need. The student council sponsors 40 elementary-aged children whose names are provided by the elementary school social workers. Children are bused or dropped off at Plymouth High School for a day of crafts, food, fun, entertainment and a visit from Santa.

Wythougan Valley Preservation Council received funding to assist with repairs and maintenance updates to the Summit School. The Summit School is the oldest one-room schoolhouse in the county. Wythougan opens the building for public open houses and tours, including educational programs for children.

The Operation Round Up board would like to thank the REMC members who participate in Operation Round Up. Your small change really makes a difference in our community.
