Operation Round Up trust awards six scholarships

Kankakee Valley REMC Operation Round Up Trust recently awarded scholarships totaling $8,000 to six deserving local high school graduates. Annually, the trust grants two $2,000 scholarships and four $1,000 scholarships to graduates whose parents/guardians participate in the Operation Round Up program.

Justin Hoover and Katelyne Allen, both from Boone Grove High School, were honored as recipients of the $2,000 scholarships. The $1,000 scholarships were awarded to Adelynne Gorski from Tri-Township High School, Kristin O’Dell from Morgan Township High School, Caden Harretos from Boone Grove High School, and Damien Frasure from North Judson/San Pierre High School.

These exceptional students showcased their commitment to academic excellence and community engagement through an application process highlighting their involvement in school and community activities. Additionally, each student wrote an essay detailing a community or neighborhood improvement project.
