Over $14,800 in grants awarded to local organizations

OPERATION ROUND UP PROGRAM — “SMALL CHANGE MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE”

The WIN Energy REMC Community Trust recently presented six grants totaling $14,895 to the following organizations:

  • Habitat for Humanity of Gibson County received $1,710 to purchase a laptop and camera system for their new ReStore.
  • Patoka Presbyterian Church received $1,500 towards supplies for their food pantry.
  • Pike County Christian Assistance received $3,000 for their food pantry supplies.
  • Sullivan Baseball League received $3,399 to purchase new light fixtures for their field.
  • Town of Shelburn received $3,286 to purchase new playground equipment for Shelburn Town Park.
  • Vigo County Education Foundation received $2,000 towards transportation for summer enrichment programs.

The Operation Round Up program allows WIN Energy REMC members to reach out to worthy causes in their communities and work together to help others. Thank you to those members who round up their electric bills to the next highest dollar each month. Since the program’s inception in May 2013, 227 grants totaling over $697,000 have been awarded to local organizations. Your small change is making a big difference for organizations in our community!
