Over $16,000 in grants awarded to local organizations

OPERATION ROUND UP PROGRAM — “SMALL CHANGE MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE”

The WIN Energy REMC Community Trust recently presented four grants totaling $16,109.67 to the following organizations:

  • Hymera Community Library received $4,151.92 to replace carpet in the library.
  • Knox County Emergency Management received $2,500 to purchase cots for their emergency shelter.
  • Pike Central High School received $6,925 to purchase a trailer for their Greenpower team.
  • Union Fire Department received $5,434.61 to purchase gauges and cameras for their trucks.

The Operation Round Up program allows WIN Energy REMC members to reach out to worthy causes in their communities and work together to help others. Thank you to those members who round up their electric bills to the next highest dollar each month. Since the program’s inception in May 2013, 231 grants totaling over $713,000 have been awarded to local organizations. Your small change is really making a big difference for organizations in our community!
