Paul Clingenpeel of Walkerton represented Marshall County REMC at the Indiana Electric Cooperative Page Day hosted at the Indiana Statehouse Wednesday, Jan. 23.

“Serving as a page gives young people a unique opportunity to participate in state government,” explained Emily Howard, communications specialist of Marshall County REMC. “Experiencing the process and the heart of state government brings to life many of the lessons students learn in the classroom. Seeing it firsthand takes it to the next level.”

The students participated in a tour of Indiana Statehouse and had the opportunity to meet with legislators. Pages learned how a bill becomes a law and passed their own legislation in a mock bill activity.
