REMCs help fund repair to Kouts water tower

When two electric cooperatives heard the news of the offensive graffiti painted on the Kouts water tower, they wasted no time in making donations toward the repairs. Both serving the rural areas in and around Kouts, Kankakee Valley REMC and Jasper County REMC often find opportunities to work together to make a more substantial impact. Jointly, the cooperatives were able to donate $3,000 to help the town make the repairs to the water tower.

Amanda Steeb, director of marketing and communications at Kankakee Valley REMC said, “Our business is more than just providing electricity. We are dedicated to supporting our communities because this is home to our member-consumers.”
