Harrison REMC contractors, Kendall Vegetation Services and H&L Tree Trimming will clear rights of way along high-voltage power lines. Harrison REMC maintains 2,685 miles of line, with approximately 310 miles scheduled for clearance in 2025.

The following areas will be trimmed in 2025:

• New Salisbury

• Floyds Knobs

• Greenville

• Georgetown

Safe clearances are maintained by removing select trees and pruning limbs along power lines. Crews can be identified by the company logo on their vehicles. If you are concerned about vegetation in proximity to your service line, contact Harrison REMC at 812-738-4115.

Our tree trimming process involves three phases to ensure efficient and thorough work.

1. Trimming
The first crew trims the limbs and branches. These branches will then be piled up.

2. Chipping
A wood chipper will chip up the limbs and branches, anything under approximately 6 inches in diameter. The chips will then be hauled away. The remaining wood pieces that cannot be chipped will be the homeowners’ responsibility to remove.

3. Mowing
A piece of equipment with a mower head will mow this area and mulch up any remaining brush, briars, and saplings.

There may be a two-to-four-week gap between phases, so you may notice branches accumulating during this period. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
