Chewy Granola Bars
Chewy Granola Bars Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- ½ cup unsalted almonds
- 2⁄3 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup toasted oats cereal, crushed
- ¼ cup raisins
- 2⁄3 cup unsalted sunflower seeds
- ½ cup honey
- 1 T. molasses
- 2 T. butter
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ t. salt
- ¼ cup chocolate chips
Directions
Heat oven to 300 F. On foil-lined baking sheet, toast oats, almonds and pecans for 15 minutes. In a large bowl, combine toasted oats cereal, raisins and sunflower seeds with toasted ingredients. In a large saucepan, melt honey, molasses, butter, brown sugar and salt over low heat. Fold dry ingredients into syrup. Using the back of a greased spoon, press mixture firmly into an 8-by-8-inch, foil-lined baking dish. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly on top and gently press with spoon. Bake for 25 minutes. Cool to room temperature. Makes 12-16 bars.
