In honor of Earth Day, Harrison REMC will allow members to bring specific items to the office to be recycled or shredded to reduce the amount of hazardous waste that is generated in our landfills.
You can bring the following items to recycle: computers, LCD monitors, laptops, residential-sized printers, fax machines, cell phones, stereo equipment, network equipment, servers, telecom equipment, DVD players, copiers, ink/toner cartridges, all office electronics and medical equipment without biohazards.
Members can drop off personal documents to be shredded or small electronics to be recycled between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on April 20. Bins will be available at the REMC office in Corydon.
The REMC has the right to restrict what members bring for recycling or shredding. Shred boxes will be available for personal papers (not newspapers). Items not accepted include tube TVs, appliances or other items containing Freon.
For a complete list of accepted items, visit www.bluegrassecycle.com/items-we-recycle.html.
