If you think you had the prize-winning harvest this year, bring it to the Harvest Contest. Kankakee Valley REMC is pleased to sponsor the contest in conjunction with the Wanatah Scarecrow Festival. This contest is open to anyone who has a green thumb and thinks they might have the best or largest in one of these categories:

• Tallest Sunflower,
• Heaviest Pumpkin,
• Largest Ear of Corn,
• Largest Zinnia,
• Largest Tomato,
• Largest Watermelon,
• Soybean Stalk with Most Pods,
• Most Unusual Gourd or Squash.

Bring your entry to the Scarecrow Square, located in downtown Wanatah, Sept. 22 from 3-6 p.m. Winners will be announced that evening at 8 p.m. Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded to the winners.

The Wanatah Scarecrow Festival runs Sept. 22-24.
