Students get a firsthand look at power plant careers

This past April, Vantage Career Center and Apollo Career Center students toured the Robert P. Mone Peaking Station in Convoy, Ohio. Juniors and seniors enrolled in the electrical systems technology and industrial mechanics classes had the opportunity to see how the plant operates, explore careers associated with the energy industry, and learn how vital plants like Mone are to the stability of the electric grid. The tour was given by the crews that perform maintenance and the day-to-day operations of the plant. Want educational resources for the classroom? Visit our YouTube channel at youtube.com/@PPEC.
