During the summer when school is out, there are plenty of educational opportunities for our young people. Dubois REC was proud to sponsor local students to attend the annual Camp Kilowatt! Students entering seventh grade this fall were eligible to attend and participate in the four-day program held at Camp Tecumseh in Brookston, Indiana.

The students enjoyed regular camp activities, such as swimming, horseback riding, and zip-lining, while also learning about electrical safety and cooperative business education. They spent time doing team-building activities, participated in a high-ropes course and also took a thrilling ride in a bucket truck. More than 90 campers representing 28 Indiana electric cooperatives attended the event, along with chaperones from local co-ops.

Camp Kilowatt students experienced a hotline safety demo and bucket truck rides, along with more traditional camp activities like archery, crafts, horseback riding, sports, swimming and canoeing.
