As we enter the month of November, I’m reminded of the importance of gratitude in our lives and the power of giving back. At Kosciusko REMC, we are truly thankful for the opportunity to serve our community, and it is during this season of thankfulness that we reflect on the values that guide us — cooperation, concern for community, and commitment to serving our members.
This month, I want to highlight two initiatives that are close to our hearts at KREMC. The first is our HUGs (Household Utility Gift) program. This program allows members to give the gift of warmth and light to others by purchasing a HUG, which is essentially a gift certificate that can be applied directly to another member’s electric bill. Whether you have a friend, family member, or neighbor in need, a HUG offers a meaningful way to lend a hand. In a time when many are feeling the pinch of rising costs, this small gesture can make a big difference.
We’re also excited to continue our annual Thanksgiving food drive this November. Each year, we partner with a local church to help provide food to those in need. It’s an effort that brings our community together in the spirit of cooperation, and I encourage you to check out the article in this month’s issue for all the details on what food items are needed and how you can contribute.
At Kosciusko REMC, we’re proud to be more than just your electric cooperative. We’re your neighbors, friends, and partners in building a brighter, more caring community. As we approach Thanksgiving, I want to express my thanks to each of you for your continued trust and support. Together, we can make a meaningful impact by looking out for one another, not just in November but all year long. Our community proves this time and time again.
Wishing you and your loved ones a safe, warm, and happy Thanksgiving holiday.
