Southern Indiana Power has an ongoing commitment to maintaining a clear path, or right-of-way easement, around electric lines.
Keeping electric lines “clear” is an ongoing project. You’ll regularly see contracted crews working around our service territory, trimming trees away from power lines. This precautionary measure is especially important during the winter months because it lessens the chance of trees falling on lines during wind and ice storms, resulting in fewer outages.
In the coming months, look for our tree trimming crews in the Rose Hill substation area (Reo). They will start south down County Road 400 to Eureka Road, then continue south to Patronville. Our focus will be the red area on the map. As always, if you see something that needs action right away, let us know!
