Congratulations to DCREMC linemen Collin Crabtree and Paul Trenkamp for completing a grueling four-year apprenticeship program through Hoosier Energy.  Upon completion of the program, the pair earned the designation of journeyman lineman.

The nationally recognized Hoosier Energy Apprenticeship Training and Safety (HEATS) program requires graduates to complete over 500 hours of classroom instruction, 8,000 hours of on-the-job training as well as earning an applied science associate degree from Ivy Tech.

Pat Nobbe, operations manager at DCREMC, said he is very proud of Crabtree and Trenkamp for this accomplishment and looks forward to what they will add to the team.

“Completing this program is no small task.  It’s four years of intense coursework, training and time away from family, on top of daily work requirements. These guys have demonstrated tremendous dedication and growth and we are lucky to have them on the team,” said Nobbe.

An official HEATS graduation ceremony will take place at a later time due to current COVID restrictions.
