Electric cooperatives have a proud history of giving back. Our concern for the community is a significant part of who we are and is reflected in how we engage with our local communities.
This year, your cooperative’s employees volunteered during United Way Day of Caring, joining 400 area volunteers to give back to non-profits and make a difference in the community. This event is the largest volunteerism celebration in Northwest Indiana.
On Friday, Aug. 6, KV REMC employees spent the day lending a hand to Family House, Jacobs Ladder and Reins of Life. Our mission for the day was simple. We wanted to assist these organizations with some of the more time-consuming basic housekeeping and maintenance tasks, freeing them to focus on what matters most, serving their clients.
“Kankakee Valley REMC is guided by values that support the community and allow us the ability to work with others to improve the quality of life for all residents,” stated Scott Sears, CEO for KV REMC. “Through the collaborated efforts of all volunteers, we are providing support and hope for the community.”
