Hoosier Energy is a generation and transmission (G&T) electric cooperative located in Bloomington. The G&T provides wholesale power and services to 18 member systems in central and southern Indiana and southeastern Illinois.
Hoosier Energy believes in an “all-of-the-above” power supply strategy that includes coal, natural gas and renewable energy sources. This strategy provides the best balance of affordability, reliability and sustainability to meet member needs.

Operation and maintenance
Electricity generated by Hoosier Energy and other utilities is placed on a regional grid and transmitted at high-voltage over long distances throughout central and southern Indiana and southeastern Illinois. Hoosier Energy maintains nearly 1,700 miles of these lines.

Member co-ops throughout the state serve nearly 1.3 million electric consumers in 89 Indiana counties.
