Q & A with Sarah Burns — Event Coordinator of the Whitestown Farmers Market
Q. Who is at the Whitestown Farmers Market?
A We have seasonal vendors who are there every Saturday, and we also have vendors that are daily, so they come every so often.
Q. How long has the Farmers Market been in place?
A The market was started back in 2015. We have added a lot of live music to the market this year (when the weather cooperates), and I definitely feel that it has created more interest in the market.
Q. What is your vision for the future?
A My goal for the market is to become a Saturday morning tradition for many families in our community. I want them to be able to grab some food, listen to some music and visit with other residents and also form relationships with the vendors that we have here.
Q. What do you like best about the Farmers Market?
A My favorite part is getting to know the vendors. It’s like a family during market season. I also enjoy meeting residents that I haven’t met before. I can tell you that I have formed many friendships with vendors due to working this market, and the vendors have also formed relationships with each other. It’s very rewarding!
