We’ve made many changes over the last few years. One year, we focused on replacing the meter on your house with an AMI system. Another year, we focused on upgrading the infrastructure that brings electricity to your home or business. Last year, we focused on addressing member requests for greater control over their electric bills and a better understanding of how they use electricity. In fact, it seems we’ve focused on some innovation or improvement every year.
You are probably wondering where our primary focus will be for 2025. Sure, we’re still working on upgrading our systems to ensure your power is safe and reliable. But this year, we don’t plan to announce any new major initiatives or programs.
Instead, we will use the year to focus on you and your relationship with the cooperative that brings electricity to your daily life. Americans are using electricity in different ways. You probably have devices in your home or office that you couldn’t have imagined a decade or two earlier. We see more electric vehicles on the roads — even e-bikes.
Those improvements we’ve focused upon in previous years are what are making us ready for all that technology and whatever else is around the corner. Our distribution system is more reliable than ever, and we continue to fine-tune things to ensure that it stays that way. With the new AMI meters fully deployed and a new billing software we can provide you with more accurate information on your electric use on your bills and through the SmartHub app.
The transition to our time-of-use (TOU) rate will give you more control over what you pay for electricity than ever before. This year, we want to focus on helping you understand how it works, show you what you can do with it, and guide you through every step. We know it’s a big change, and I want to make sure that supporting our members is our focus for the year. We also want to make you aware of the many services we offer.
As a co-op owned by our members, we have always centered our focus on your needs and priorities. Looking ahead to 2025, we are committed to continuing to provide the very best, member-focused service — just as we have proudly done for over 85 years.
