This year has been like no other and so those wanting to take part in Z Gravy Chase can still do so virtually. The Race Joy app will be utilized to track runners and results. Participants can tailor their pre-feast run by deciding on the course distance.
“Neighborhood ambassadors has organized a route through many neighborhoods with friends and family,” Boone County Boys and Girls Club Chief Development Officer Katie Reasoner said. “We are trying to engage more community members to create a fun, interactive race day experience close to home.”
Some ambassadors have helped by promoting the race on social media, manning water stations, and organized post event gatherings with donuts, coffee, and mimosas.
According to Reasoner, of the Whitestown registrations in the past, there was a concentration in a couple locations, like Walker Farms and The Boulevard at Anson. A vitual route was created in Walker Farms that would pass by 300-plus homes.
